Joseph Coughlin is Keynote Speaker at ISBNPA XChange Conference
by Adam Felts
AgeLab Director Joseph Coughlin was the keynote speaker for the ISBNPA XChange Conference. ISBNPA, or the International Society of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity, focuses on behavioral psychology in relation to exercise and nutrition with the aim toward the improvement of human health and wellbeing. The Society publishes an academic journal titled The International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity.
For his hourlong keynote address, Dr. Coughlin discussed the need to redesign society for an older population - such that a 100-year life is both healthy and filled with activity and meaning.
He asked participants to reimagine the environment in which we age, and the social contract of longevity across the lifespan. How do we use technology, public policy, and the power of marketplace to help us live longer and better in a world in which there will be more older adults than children?
